Do try this and post your comments below. <br /> <br />Ingredients <br /> <br />Base <br /> <br />160 gms or 1 cup Maida <br />45 gms or 1/2 cup dessicated coconut <br />100 gms or 1/2 cup butter <br />80gms or 1/2 cup minus 1 tbsp sugar <br /> <br />Filling <br /> <br />60gms or 1/4th cup butter <br />600 gms or 1 can condensed milk <br />3 tbsp golden syrup or honey <br /> <br />Topping <br /> <br />170gms or 1 1/2 cups chopped Dark chocolate <br />1 tbsp vegetable oil <br /> <br />Method <br /> <br />- For the base, in a bowl mix maida, dessicated coconut, melted butter and brown sugar. Mix it well. <br />- In a baking pan, place parchment paper and evenly spread the base mixture. <br />- Prick it lightly on the top. <br />- At 108 degree, bake it for 15 to 20 minutes. <br />- For the filling, in a sauce pan heat condensed milk, butter and golden syrup. <br />- Cook this mixture till it thickens. It will roughly take 8 to 10 minutes. <br />- Pour this caramel mixture over the base and bake it at 180 degree for 10 to 12 minutes. <br />- Allow it to cool at room temperature and keep it in refrigerator for 45 minutes. <br />- In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate by adding vegetable oil to give that extra shine to the chocolate. <br />- Pour the melted dark chocolate over the cooled caramel layer. <br />- Refrigerate it for 10 to 15 minutes. <br />- Once it is out of the fridge, cut it in to pieces. <br />- Delicious Caramel Slice is ready!
